CEO and Founder
While other children were riding bikes throughout the neighborhood, the CEO and Founder of Proshot, John "Johnny" White, was tagging along with his older brother to the gym to watch him play basketball. At the age of 8 years old, he had found his sport and immediately took to it. He learned to shoot on a goal that didn't have a back board...the rim was nailed to a tree by a gravel road. White practiced daily and studied proper form...he learned it well - well enough to earn a scholarship to play basketball at SAU Magnolia where he earned his BSE.
Johnny coached for many years, impacting student-athletes' lives every day. He was a coach at Mineral Springs for 2 years before spending 10 years as a coach for the Cabot Public School District in Cabot, Arkansas. He was able to share his passion for a variety of sports as a coach and then as athletic director for 26 years. After retiring from his public school career, Johnny went on to win a gold medal for basketball at the Summer National Senior Games in 2009. In the spring of 2019 after teaching a private shooting lesson, he came up with the idea to give his students a more visible precise target in the center of the rim and the Proshot design was created.
